Lia Chechelashvili
Artistic Experience: I began to draw at the age of 11.
Early painting: The aim was to create color simphony, without any philosophical load, just color spots, their interaction and sometimes reflections of objects in each other. For these purposes I chose very simple subjects
( like still life, portrait or landscape).
Graphics : In that period of time I was no longer interested in colors (temporarily). So I decided to restrain myself with white line and dark background. Then I had tendence to create complicated compositions with interlaced human bodies. Very soon the period of simplification began. At that time my credo was: "Minimum of means and maximum of expression". That period was characterized by laconism of lines and substantive psichological and philosophical contents. The most pictures in this style was created in 1993. It was very productive year. Some ideas strucke me unexpectedly and I immediately realized them, the others appeared as a result of associative thinking. So I've always liked to combine some strange and various ideas and associations , which are too individual to explain them here.
Late painting : It is spontaneous continuation of principles of late graphics plus color saturation.
Preferable technics: Oil on kanvas and gouache on cardboard.
