Bob Dornberg
Bob Dornberg was born in Los Angeles, where he and his twin brother began painting with their father at an early age. Dornberg was inspired by his high school art teacher to explore Juxtaposition. At UCLA his painting teachers encouraged him to paint from life, and to paint often.
Over the past 12 years Dornberg has produced more than 900 works, which are displayed on his website, some of which appear in poetry e-zines and are in printed publications or on book covers.
Statement
It is essential to study the elements that make a painting great. These elements include: relationships of objects, shapes, lines, spaces and colors; their juxtaposition toward the surface and the edges; their rhythm and balance.
Studying these elements takes place whenever a work is reviewed. It is essential to learn from review, and to adapt and progress, yet to remain free to expore and to change.
Subject matter is chosen from slices of my life. Subject matter must remain subservient, and focus must be on these elements.
