Blubark
BLUBARK was established in 2004 in the city of Copenhagen Denmak. This collaboration between Hernando Rico Sanchez in the USA and Sandor Barics in Germany gave life to multiple digital projects under a simple idea, to create art with social content.
Blubark approaches the digital medium by adapting and using multiple forms of digital data provided by the Internet. This collection of pictures, drawings, MRI, and other types of digital data are used and transformed by photo manipulation, collage techniques and digital paint. As we have both discovered new possibilities through this media, guided by new technology and software that are continually being developed today, by pushing ahead and trying to break the limits of what is visually possible we began to create work that reflects not only this new media but that becomes a direct narrative of the moment. The use of the Internet as a source for imagery alters the idea of what is original, as a result it allowed us as artists to feel free to appropriate images and manipulate them for a desired result. We feel the whole purpose of our creation is to go into places deep within ourselves that have never been explored and discover new insights in an effort to understand the world around us.
Our artworks communicate and reflect issues within the human body, as well the social problems, environmental concerns, religion, spirituality, relationships and sexuality. We look to raise awareness, promote peace and to encourage people to support the fundamental development of life for all.
Blubark artworks are available to the public in our online galleries and thru digital art prints.
