“The color plays the first parts in these compositions which summarize the reason with essence. Francis DENIS seizes realism by taking care of évincer the anecdotic details to the profit of a structured minimalism, often reduced to extremely simplified geometrical structures. Working by topic, it underlines contours of the subject in a setting in very simplifying scene. Very noticed with the Linéart living room of Ghent, works of this artist will appear in the ogee mouldings of international galleries. ”

Francis DENIS announces the color
“When I remain without painting, I have the impression not to exist more…” Francis DENIS with the painting so narrowly screwed with his daily newspaper that it sometimes happens to him to work “until breathlessness. ” Very productive, it sticks to series and exhausts them. There were the bathers, the lunches on grass, the painter and his model. It stops today on Christ and maternities. Travel colors.
Francis DENIS hangs his works from Dunkirk in Paris, from Ghent in Madrid. It was yesterday at the school of the Art schools de Saint-Omer, it will be in Bailleul until April 15. It prefers the collective demonstrations with the exposures in solo. “The artist who lives in an ivory tower is not my style. I am curious about the work of the others…”
The man nourishes himself some for better creating. Remainder, its work is very inspired by that of the large Masters: Jerome Bosch, Picasso, Direct, the sculptor Spanish baroque Gregorio Fernandez. “I would like to live like them, dream Francis DENIS, to be recognized as national artist…” For the time being, the man shares his passion coloured with the trade of teacher with the IME of Longuenesse. Completely self-educated, it was tested with the gouache and the pastel before discovering oil on wood or paper. “I had the impression to release me! ” it remembers. It paints much, quickly, without regret “One should not that I touch a work fifty times, my technique prohibits it to me. ” It paints colors sharp and cordial, funny and extreme, sometimes fulminant.
His wives are pink, round, gouleyantes on blue bottom, “this blue which translates more the concept of space and freedom. ” Its Christs want to be burning: “They are a reflexion on the existence and not a mystical or religious step, specifies the painter. I wonder about the silly thing of the wars of religion. ”
Many portraits, square formats and rebounded fruits. “I prefer to slip on a curve rather than to run up against me against an angle. ”
